Aw The Joys Of BLAH, BLAH

Aw The Joys Of BLAH, BLAH Conversation is going along with a friend or two, and laughter is abundant, when suddenly you are hearing the same thing over, but in a different approach. Oh, now wait, you are hearing it again, but this time it has a twist to it. Wait a minute, you are yet hearing it again……….and again………..and yet again. “Aw The Joys Of BLAH, BLAH,” from a dear friend. Does this make you wonder if maybe they have been doing this for a very long time and you are just now noticing this? You have probably herd the same joke a bazillion times, and instead of being rude, you just keep listening and laugh. Is this early stage of Alzheimer’s? I do not think so……….but is it? The other day, a dear friend of mine told me the same story not once but four times. I sat down and listened as it was the first time. I think sometimes she has told this story to too many people, but when she tells the story, her face is filled with excitement and as her enthusiasm escalades, I see and hear joy! Our parents are getting of age, as they too tell us the same story over and over. Listen and enjoy those times. Remember you will be of age too one day! Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today…………………………..”AW The Joys Of BLAH, BLAH,” is around us everyday of our lives. We should embrace the conversation, and the memories that are being told to us. We should also listen to those who are telling us the same jokes over and over. Life has unexpected events, that can fill us with tragedy or fill us with happiness. Treasure the time you have. As Always, Enjoy Your Day! Cathy

When Life Gives You Lemons

When Life Gives You Lemons

How many times have you herd someone say “When Life Gives You Lemons,” make lemonade! Yep, we are too make lemonade out of the sour situation. No matter how hard you try to resolve the issue, you get deeper into making lemonade. I say open a lemonade stand and see what happens.

What if you looked at “When Life Gives You Lemons,” in a different way? Evolve your thought process with a completely different approach. Why did this happen? Was this really my fault? Was this the results to a different way of approaching a situation? My favorite, “What the heck was I thinking?……….This list could go on and on, but that would be a bottle of wine and a lot of talking. There are times when the reason for this to happen is to have you understand that it is time to move forward. Life is best when you have moved forward differently.

What if we approach this phrase in a completely different way? I have for many years and now……….it is all about how you approach the lemonade stand. Okay……..so something happened and pooh hit the fan in a big way……..or what you just did lead to another lemon added to your tree. Start thinking before you approach your lemon tree! I know sometimes that you just do not think before you take action, but perhaps you should. If you do this……..what would happen? Many case’s your actions lead to a solution and now you have lots of lemonade to sell. The point is…………thinking it through before you take action. You probably would save a lot of time and money.

Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today…………….we are all creatures of habits. We complain that the same situation is occurring over and over, and have pity parties. What if you approach life in a different way? You may be surprised that what you thought was the right way, was actually the wrong way and now life is full in everyway possible. Lemonade taste great when you actually want a glass of lemonade, instead of having to drink it when you did not want any.

When It Is All Said and Done

Today our family got a phone call that is quite devastating.  We had tears and laughter, as we are all together in planning our next journey to comfort the long haul.  I reflect on so many things; however this got me to think of “When It Is All Said and Done.”

“When It Is All Said and done,” was it worth it to get angry at someone.  Should you have taken a step back and realized that perhaps talking in a calm voice and resolve the situation is a way to solve the matter.

“When It Is All Said and Done,” should you have given more to those less fortunate than you?

“When It Is All Said and Done,” should you have worked things out in the last relationship, rather than throw in the towel?

“When It Is All Said and Done,” would it hurt to give your loved ones that extra hug because…………you can?

You see today, I received devastating news that a loved one in my family has……..well cancer throughout their precious lungs, and a brain tumor.  Refused to see a doctor for about a year and the other day they finally saw a doctor, with not great news.  Life is extremely uncertain with unexpected turns that we never understand.  I encourage you treasure the life you have.

Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today…………………Respect, be kind, lend a hand when you can, the golden rule should be at all times, and most of all live life to the fullest with joy!

Thyroid Balancing Act

Thyroid Balancing Act

I have been passionate about my Thyroid health for the last two years. I have previously gave out some help with a book called “The Thyroid Alternative,” by Dr. Nikolas R. Hedberg, that has opened up my eyes to all that I have had to deal with. Again, I am neither a doctor nor will I ever be one; however, please seek a real doctor for your Thyroid issue. Heads up on a doctor……….seems that Natural Holistic doctors are one to seek advise. Choose one that is familiar with Thyroid. Why? The independent companies that do their blood work do a thorough testing on the balance of your Thyroid. It may cost a bit more; however, the knowing is worth every cent!

Don’t be fooled by those on the internet that are having you scroll down the several pages of how they became free of medication by their diet, and then at the end you see a dollar amount of $300.00 for their book and information. It may or may not work. The Natural pills on the internet have a huge promise that this is the one for you and your Thyroid………..do not push your luck. The point is that I need to reach out to as many as I can to let you know that by the time you spend all your hard earned money, time, and gas to mail all this crap back……………..you could have gone to a real doctor and have been on the road to recovery. I cannot stress enough on the importance of seeking a doctor who understands.

The most important part of recovery in Thyroid is your immune system. Yes your immune system. There are different levels of Thyroid concerns and immune system keeps coming up. What happens is that if you have a week immune system, it will attack your precious Thyroid and eventually destroy it. The immune system when weak stops the ability of your Thyroid to properly function. When your Thyroid stops functioning then the only option is to remove your Thyroid, and now you will have to be on medication for the rest of your life.

How to improve your immune system? Vitamins, exercise, and DIET! Yes, DIET! Diet and exercise is a key factor to Thyroid. Hey isn’t this the key to most everything? Think about it. When you feel great, the clothes are a bit tighter, and when you feel the bulge, the clothes are a bit larger. As I have always believed and it is true today, that a healthier diet and plenty of exercise is great for the mind and soul. So stay away from all those pesticides, and preservatives, as this is also a huge key factor to your health and to your Thyroid health. Also, ORGANIC! Major benefits from the inside out!

Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today…………………………..There is so much to learn each and everyday of our lives. Embrace the information that is given to you, swish it around, take what you need and spit the rest out. Life is learning as we stroll along.

Thyroid - Rejuvenating

Thyroid - Rejuvenating

Before reading on, PLEASE, PLEASE, consult a real doctor who understands what your complaints are, your symptoms, and most of all treats you from with in. It makes a huge difference in the balance of life and your soul. There are different levels of Thyroid health, as mine is low Thyroid.

I just need to share as much as I can to all. I wish the internet was filled with people who are in my two wiggly feet and express the joy of “Thyroid - Rejuvenating.” There is such a sense of completion of all your answers. You know the ones………I ate the same thing yesterday today and I put on five pounds! ERRRRR. Why am I not sleeping through the night? Why is my hair not only brittle, but also falling out by the handful? Why is my skin like a road map through the Sahara desert even when I am putting on tons of lotion? The list can go on and on, but my point is no one should suffer as long as I have with Thyroid. Perhaps it is because there is more awareness now than ever before.

I have noticed one important must for Thyroid and that is to re-evaluate your food intake. This is a huge part of Rejuvenating!! Protein is necessary for not only everybody, but for anyone with Thyroid issues. A lean source of protein is important at every meal. It is not a fad………it is a fact! High quality of protein………organic eggs, fish (low heavy metals), organic chicken, organic red meat, organic dairy products, organic, nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts), organic legumes, organic soybeans, and of course organic greens. Staying away, far away from preservatives, and pesticides, are also a key factor. Gluten is a key factor to Thyroid. Some cannot digest, and when you sit down at a meal, think of Gluten as the blocking guy. What I mean by that is that it will block your Thyroid’s ability to function as it is intended to. Try to eat small meals every two to three hours a day.    A great multivitamin is so important. Some may be deficient in vitamin D, and that is a huge part of healing from with in. Vitamin D also helps fight off many diseases. Before you go on to take any of my suggestions, I do recommend that you see a great doctor who again will listen and heal from with in.

Life As We I Know It brings me to this today……………………………..there are so many avenues in healing from with in. I practice yoga, walking, laughing, loving, and being grateful for all that, I can see and touch. Someone asked me this past weekend  what do I do for a living? I just smiled and said, “ENJOY LIFE.” He was taken back at my response, but asked what I do to enjoy life? I explained that life should not be taken for granted. We should be grateful to all those that come into our life and leave our life. We should embrace each day with kindness, gratitude, and gratefulness. See life as if it was the first time you had sight! We continued to talk and shared a lot.
Go out there and embrace life! It is a beautiful day!

Thyroid Help

As I have been learning so much about Thyroid, I wish that there were more books out there like this one. I will tell you later, but just read a few of my reasons why you should pick this book up. If this is your concern.

In the last three years, I have seen so many specialists with all my concerns in hopes of some answers. With doors opening with hope, I shut the doors with disappointment. I had one doctor tell me that an independent lab work was a fancy way of crap. I explained that this is how I found out about my Thyroid crap. Another doctor said that this lab work is indicating that I should be on a different medication. Mind you when I asked to have a current lab work done, he said not necessary. It had been a year since I had a current lab work done. (Hmm, what is wrong with this picture?) Three other specialists wanted to put me on a higher dose of my Thyroid medication. Mind you, these doctors are Endocrinologist, and were referred to me. I just had a gut feeling that probably I was at the wrong approach of healing. I did not feel comfortable. Always follow a women’s intuition.

Then the natural way came to mind. One person said that something is blocking your Thyroid in healing, take this, and take that. Okay, it is all good but I still was not feeling anything different. Months later, I herd about a doctor here in town that has quite a following and is a Natural doctor. As she was asking questions, I started to grasp on her questions. No other doctor that I have seen has asked me these questions. Then she started to ask me other questions that lead me to understand why my Thyroid is behaving the way it is. This Natural doctor was healing from inside rather than topical. It has been three weeks and I feel extremely lucky to have found her!!!!! I have noticed a huge difference.

I went on the internet in searching through many books on Thyroid and found this one. I have a few on my shelf that I will donate to the local library, however, I came across this one that explained all in common sense language.

The book is “The Thyroid Alternative,” by “Dr. Nikolas R. Hedberg..”

This is my bible now with Thyroid. Everything that I was complaining about is explained in this book and why. All of the questions that I brought up with the specialist were never answered. In this book, they are answered. If you know of someone with a Thyroid problem please inform him or her of this book! I give this book a bazillion hugs!

Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today………………….A sigh of relief, a ton of weight lifted off my shoulders, a rainbow of hope, and I THANK GOD I was not nuts. Sometimes we have many steps in our journey, I just needed to seek and ye shall find the answers. I am on the path in healing from inside out! Life is great!

P.S. You should always consult your medical doctor.

As Always, Enjoy Your BEAUTIFUL Day! Cathy

Low Thyroid - My Journey

Low Thyroid - My Journey

How many times I have complained of the same issue to what I thought was a doctor that was listening………..way to many times. In his defense, the complaints happen to be very similar to a current issue and my blood work was showing normal range for my thyroid. (blood work was from a doctor and not an independent lab work) Sound familiar? I have had 5 different opinions; however, one opinion that found peace for me has made a huge difference. She is a Natural Doctor, and nailed it on the head. She described all my concerns to a tee. I could go on for hours but I only have one page!

Thyroid issues are abundant in many people, and they don’t even know it. I was one of them. Kids were small and I was plugging through the day with heavy puffy eyes, ( I thought were seasonal allergies) puffy face, (thought it was from the weight that I could not get rid of) hands twitching, (thought it was from nerve damage from a serious car accident, and back surgery) hot hands and body (I’m to young to go through the change of life) constant fatigue, (kids are keeping me too busy) hair loss, (hmm I should look into vitamins) there are many more symptoms but I only have one page. I was enjoying life. I thought everything was fine. This went on for 15 years. Yes 15 years. I powered through life doing what needed to be done for others and me. I exercised 4 times a week but I could have changed the diet. Still doughy in size, but life was busy, and my family is a priority.

It wasn’t until 4 years ago that I started hearing and reading about hormones, food intolerance, and how important supplements are. I knew about this, but this time I absorbed all that I could. I really did not take a deeper look into my health until 2 years ago. My hair had fallen out by the hand full. Fatigue was abundant and now I want to figure this out. The doctor and I discovered that my thyroid was extremely low, and many foods were showing up in my food intolerance. Plan of attack was take medication for thyroid, change the diet, and exercise. So I did. Then 9 months ago the symptoms were coming back, but not as strong, however, the energy level was low again. After taking my yearly lab work, my thyroid was normal and the doctor suggested that my adrenal glands needed a boost. Pretty common. The Doctor suggested great vitamins, krill oil, Power adapt formula, exercise, relaxation time, and 90% organic. It has been three weeks and I noticed a huge difference the first week! Hint…..I was already 90% organic and have been for 2 ½ years. It is worth it!

Life As We { I } Know It brings me to this today……………Please consult your doctor first before you try to diagnose yourself. However, if once diagnosed with low thyroid, I have found that that supplements are a key to getting your energy back. Also a clean diet of no preservatives, no pesticides, as much organic as possible, lean protein, exercise at least 6 days a week………..and you might just start to see the old you but healthier.
